Kia Celebrates 30 Million Vehicles
Kia has celebrated a significant landmark by selling its 30 millionth vehicle globally - an achievement reached in a little over 50 years.
Kia started out selling Bicycles, and military transport. Then in 1962 Kia motors produced its first civilian vehicle the K-360 a 3 wheeled light cargo truck. (Pictured Below)
It took the first 40 years to achieve the 10 million in sales mark. After adding factories, all new products and one of the Top Car designers in the industry (Peter Schreyer), Kia can now celebrate the 30 million vehicle mark.
"The story of Kia's continued growth is quite remarkable, and this is testament to ongoing investment in new technology, innovative new designs and improved quality" says Todd McDonald, General Manager of Kia Motors New Zealand.
Mr McDonald says Kia has already replaced its entire model line-up in the last three years, which has resulted in one of the most up-to-date range of vehicles in the world, and it is now embarking on another phase of new model launches.
